Sustainable Solutions for Stabilization, Drainage, and Erosion Control
In addition to these possibilities, M&S Umweltprojekte is currently conducting a study, commissioned by Zwartz, to determine potential additional applications in the civil engineering market based on technical data.
The major difference from existing synthetic geotextiles is that our SIZO Geo is made entirely of jute, making it compostable without leaving traces in nature. This has been confirmed by research from KIWA.
To determine the properties, we conducted both internal tests and utilized various external testing agencies.
Our jute geotextiles can be used in a variety of applications, including road construction, pond lining, and erosion control along water banks. With widths up to 535 cm and tensile strength up to 50 kN, they perform exceptionally well in stabilizing soil and preventing erosion. These geotextiles are particularly suitable for nature-friendly infrastructure projects where vegetation can eventually take over structural roles, providing a fully biodegradable solution.
Zwartz offers fully customizable geotextiles to fit your project’s specific needs. Whether you need a particular size or a more tightly woven fabric for added durability, we can tailor our products to your exact specifications. This flexibility ensures that your geotextile solution perfectly aligns with the unique demands of your project, whether it’s a heavy-duty infrastructure task or a landscaping initiative.
Zwartz’s geotextiles have been rigorously tested and certified by Kiwa and OEKO-TEX, ensuring they meet the highest standards of sustainability. These certifications guarantee that our jute geotextiles are safe for use in environmentally sensitive projects and will break down naturally without leaving a lasting environmental footprint.
The demand for sustainable and circular construction methods is growing, especially with the government’s goal of fully circular construction by 2050. Zwartz’s jute geotextiles align with these objectives by offering a bio-based, biodegradable alternative that competes on both technical and economic grounds. For example, in nature-friendly bank protection projects, our geotextiles allow vegetation to take over the structural role after some time, promoting a greener, more sustainable solution.
Zwartz is committed to maintaining Dutch manufacturing, producing all our jute geotextiles locally. This not only ensures exceptional quality but also reduces the environmental impact associated with long-distance shipping. Our dedication to sustainable production is reflected in every aspect of our manufacturing process, from sourcing raw materials to delivering final products.
